Drone Shows Snow in Northern Vermont as Thousands Left Without Power

Stunning drone footage showed snow coating parts of northern Vermont on Friday, April 6, after a Nor’easter storm hammered the northeastern United States and caused power outages across New England.

The footage from John Rowe Photos shows the area of Island Pond near Newark, Vermont, on Friday morning. At least 11.6 inches of snow had fallen north of Newark by Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Burlington.

At least 11,000 customers in the state were still without electricity Friday morning, according to VT Outages, a website that tracks power issues in Vermont. The problem was even greater in neighboring states, with more 240,000 customers in Maine and 93,000 in New Hampshire waiting to be reconnected.
